Doug is a relatively new member of the multi-sport community. After running a 5K on a dare on a hot summer morning in 2009, he soon fell in love with endurance sports. Before the end of the year he had run a marathon and the following spring he added cycling to the mix. By the end of the summer of2010, he had completed his first triathlon and he was fully enamored in multi-sports. Duathlon was soon added to the mix as he earned a spot on Team USA's Duathlon squad the following year.
He continues to pursue athletic goals as well as contribute to multi-sport in other roles. He is a Level 1 USAT Certified Race Director, a Category 2 USAT official, Regional Officials Coordinator for the southern section of the region, and assists or volunteers on a multitude of levels with many endurance sports. He is also the owner/operator of FitRight Racing, an event management company specializing in chip timing.
During his free time, he is the father to Katelyn and Connor and enjoys spending time with youth. He is an active mentor in Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Louisiana and serves on its advisory board.
